Jairo Arcila is a third generation coffee grower who worked as a mill manager for Colombia's second largest coffee exporter for over 40 years. He purchased Finca La Esmerelda in 1987 where he planted his first Caturra lot. He has since bought a further five farms, providing jobs for locals and generating an economic impact in the community.
This microlot is 100% Java, a variety which originated in Ethiopia and is a natural mutation of Typica. The coffee was meticulously handpicked and sorted to select only the ripest cherries and remove any defects.
